Twisted
by Keith Sweat
Oh yeah baby
You got to make your mind up
Yeah, Kut Klose, hear me out
1-You know you are my lover
You got me twisted over you
I know I got what you need
So what you wanna do
Baby, baby I know
Baby I love you so
But you don't feel like I do
Tell me what can I do
2-But I gotta be strong
You did me wrong
When I thought that we were really down
So you say you want me
Make up your mind
Cuz I'm not gonna be here for long
(repeat 1)
Baby, baby in time
Baby I know you'll find
That what you needed was here
And think about it my dear
(rpt 2, 1...)
Breaking up down
You got me twisted
Thinking about the way that things use to be
When It was you and me girl I was so free
See you had my life
Like Cupid and I was just down right foolish and stupid
But now I know the reason for the pain and the headaches
You left me all alone now I can't even concentrate
I guess I'll wait for the day until you come back
Because my heart is where your love is at
You got me twisted

Nice blog dear, but your musical taste dwells on the awful side of dreadful. No real offense meant it's just...
"But I gotta be strong
You did me wrong
When I thought that we were really down
So you say you want me
Make up your mind
Cuz I'm not gonna be here for long"
Oh my... well... uh... thats good? I guess? She must be strong? He did her wrong? She's not going to be here for long? Probably for the best really...
i like it not because of the lyrics alone but the whole song.
here's what i think it says,
he loves her alot but she doesn't feel the same way. so he's trying to find out what can he do to try and make it work.
"But I gotta be strong
You did me wrong
When I thought that we were really down
So you say you want me
Make up your mind
Cuz I'm not gonna be here for long"
he then says that he needs to be strong because she cheated on him when he thought their relationship was going well. Then she turns around and says that she wants him. So he's asking her to make up her mind because he's not going to wait around for her.
If you want lyrics that makes sense, go look back in the 50s and 60s. they all make sense by reading it just once.
I wonder what YOU listen to, whoever you are.
Please forgive me stellar, I mean't no real personal offense, especially considering you didn't pen the song yourself... Had Mr. Sweat's lyrics not been so compellingly asinine I almost certainly would have kept my comments to myself.
I'm sure the song has some deeper personal meaning to you than the writer ever intended, but you did post it on the blog, so I kind of figured it was open for criticism.
Also, your comments about the music of the 50's and 60's... seriously, you're putting Brandy and Nickleback above Muddy Waters and The Beatles. Ooh, and The Kinks, and the Rolling Stones, and early Dylan, and Johnny Cash and The Stooges and Aretha Franklin and the Supremes and... well you get the idea. I weep for the species...
okay.. firstly, I didn't put the greats above nickleback etc. I personally listen to a wide range of music thanks to my grandfather and boyfriend.
I just said, that the greats have got a way more direct meaning than the songs of the 90s or today. i mean,
"when i grow up i wanna have boobies"
does not qualify as goos lyrics at all.
I do agree with you to a certain extend. however, critisize the lyrics and not my taste in music.
thanks.
