Oh Crikey!

I'm still in shock...

World Famous Australian Croc Man, Steve Irwin, tragically passed away this morning at 11am in Batt Reef, Queensland while filming a documentary. He was stung by a stingray. Obviously a very major stink since he did die from it. Apparently, it stung his chest and directly to his heart..

Its damn sad la. Cos just last month, he and his 8 yo daughter, Bindi Sue was featured in this month's Australian Marie Claire as part of a Father's Day tribute to famous Dads in Australia... The news of his death is all over the news and in all major Australian network websites and all major Auatralian newspaper websites. Steve Irwin after all, did put Australia on the map after Croc Dundee.

I remember watching The Croc Hunter on Astro and the numerous telly ads, Malaysian ala Steve Irwin on TV3. But I guess in a way, he died doing something he loves. And I guess in a way, he died leaving a great legacy. But its so sad cos he left behind his wife, Terri and kids, Bindi Sue and Robert Clarence (3 yrs old).

I couldn't find a pic that has Robert in it..

Anyways, I guess it just goes to show that life is short.. and you may just go without warning. But I guess, I rather die doing something I love than die doing something I hate.

To Steve Irwin... Rest In Peace Mate! Australia and the rest of the world mourns the lost of an entertainer, an educator and an influential animal rights activist.. All the crocs, kangaroos, snakes and koalas will miss you dearly...
