movie going... with wine!

SHUT UP! *evil stare*

I know I blog too much. I think its a disorder.. *puppy eyes*

It's a Saturday night and I'm suppose to be buried in my assignment but so far only my table is buried with notes and books. Hey! At least I got my introduction done, its my first introduction (I usually change it a thousand times!) and I have no admit.. not bad!

Anyways, as I was saying, I ended up watching New York Stories while drinking the remains of my wine. There's 3 different stories directed by (in my opinion and my scarce/limited acknowledgement of directors thanks to my cinema studies unit last semester) the greats; Martin Scorsese (Life Lessons), Francis Coppola (Life without Zoe) and our lil favourite neurotic director, Woody Allen (Oedipus Wrecks).

Oh before I forget (if you've not already noticed), they are all short films... in well... New York obviously.

Here's how I would rate my favourite..

1. Oedipus Wreck.
Tina :: It's weird but interesting. You (almost) never end up with the one you want to end up with but you always end up with someone you never thought you would and at the end of the day, it always seems right. Okay, so that's the interesting part. The weird part is, you end up with someone you want to stay away from. Or rather, you end up with someone who like the person you want to stay away from. Despite all that, you love them so much that you feel like you're in some spa. Relaxed, calm and you have that assurance.

2. Life without Zoe.
Tina :: It's a depiction of a stereotypical rich kid in NYC. Dressed up in Chanel at the tender age of 12, Zoe defies the theory of maturity grows with age. It's a light heart short film with a majority of the cast being kids of the 70s growing up in the 80s. There's 2 things I learnt... its two little stories actually.
The first one is about the Bunny Rabbit. Once there was a litlle bunny rabbit who didn't have any friends. One day, his mother told him to take play with his toys and carrots out to the lawn and play there. He did and other little bunnies peek from the fance and saw Bunny Rabbit having fun, playing by himself. The other little rabbits looked up the fance and asked, "Can we play with you?". The moral of the story is, when people see you having fun, they'll join!
The second one is, once, long time ago, flutes were ban because it sounded so beautiful that virgins were all easily seduced. *Go figure* Dunno if it's like a real myth or something. (okay.. I just realised that was such an oxymoron.. oh well...)

3. Life Lessons.
Tina :: It's Scorsese. This short film is twisted. It's about obsession gone wrong. Hope it wasn't talking to me. I'm not THAT obsessed with Grey's Anatomy and my baby right??? (Baby, am I THAT obsessed????)
Its about this artist who gets obsessed with his assistant...
But I have to say, the camera angles and all are fucking awesome... Scorsese is a GENIUS!!! There are a number of shots taken from the freak-a-zoid of an artist point of view. The way he focuses on the body parts of the assistant. GENIUS!

I think I should shut up now. I'm begining to sound like a movie buff with a whole lotsa crap. But serious.. they're all good. But the Woody Allen one is my favourite among all three...

"I was just about to tell you, that I love him. I do. I love him. I love him. And I don't care what you think. I love him for the man he wants to be and I love him for the that man is almost is. I love him, Laurel. I love him. I love him."

"You complete me!"
"Shut up! Just Shut up! You had me at hello..."

Lines from Jerry McGuire... Hmmm.. Yummy Yum Yum...

OMG! Baby just asked me what I'm doing and I said that I'm blogging.. he was like, "How many times do you blog a day??.... You going mainstream??"

Oh fuckity-fuck! No no no no. I see what Jasminne the Penguin goes thru.. I don't wanna kena bang when I blog about me being horny, angry, so deeply in love etc etc etc...
